9 Things WWE Must Do To Bring Back Causal Wrestling Fans

5. Cut Three Hour Raw

Monday Night Raw is WWE's flagship show. It's been going since 1993 and has become the sight of many memorable matches, storylines and turns. It used to be must-see stuff, but with over three hours to each episode now, there is plenty of recapping, nothing segments and filler matches, which are there just for the sake of being there. It's too much. The quality of wrestlers that WWE has available to them is incredible. They have a wealth of talent that really can shine. But at this moment in time, they're over-exposed. Plus, with a brand split no longer in existence, there's also another two hours to fill on Smackdown. Five hours of exposure to the same roaster is overwhelming. It might have worked back in the late nighties when the demand was there, but at this moment in time, it simply isn't. For the hardcore fans of wrestling, it isn't anything out of the norm, but for causal fans, asking someone to dedicate five hours of their time to watch the same group of wrestlers is reaching. Raw desperately needs to be scaled back to two hours. It will help ease the pressure on the creative team to fill up that extra hour as well as not leaving the viewers in total boredom. Granted, this probably won't happen anytime soon, because the longer the show, the more ad time there is to sell (and WWE are a massive business first and foremost). But if they continue to air a three hour show, it remains very unlikely that the viewing figures will grow. Quite the opposite, actually.
