3. The Great Khali = Worst Possible Choice!

It's The Great Khali, and he's holding a title belt. ARGH!

Following Edge’s unfortunate injury, WWE decided to put the vacant World Heavyweight Title on Khali and see what'd happen. He won a 20-man Battle Royal on the 20 July episode to become brand new champ. Listen, most get that Vince McMahon saw physical size and nothing else, but Khali was literally the worst candidate in line for the belt WWE could’ve picked. Bad matches were going to be a given with him in the hot seat.

Being fair, Khali's title reign only lasted 2 months, but it was painful to go from Edge to him when binging on some SmackDown from back in the day. The ambling giant had a particularly crap match vs. Kane on the 17 August episode. Unlike Edge vs. Benoit or Batista vs. The Undertaker, do not go out of your way to find this one. No, not even on Dailymotion or some other place. Save yourselves.

Save us, Y2J. Sorry, that was over on another show.

Back to Khali. There was nothing "Great" about his fairly brief title run. Fans had already seen enough of him to last a lifetime by the time he was hoisting that upside down belt high above his head and yelling something or other. Suddenly, it started to sink in that we'd gone from one of the best performers of his generation (Edge) to one of the worst in the blink of an eye.

Only one man could save the day. Or, should that be one 'Animal'?
