When Daniel Bryan heartbreakingly announced his retirement from professional wrestling just a couple of months ago, the overwhelming assumption was that his wife Brie Bella would soon join him in his eco-garden or wherever it is he spends his time now.

Brie received a shot at the Divas Championship at Fastlane, and also found herself the recipient of heartwarming adulation at the end of the 10-woman tag match at WrestleMania 32.

Brie has since announced that she will be taking an extended break from in-ring competition, but it is a safe assumption that her days inside the squared circle are done.

She was joined in the WrestleMania celebrations by her sister Nikki, who herself is recovering from serious neck surgery.

Nikki has since come out and denied that she will be retiring, but the tidal wave that is the Divas Revolution may leave her with a simple decision to make.

Neck injuries are no laughing matter either, and she may be faced with the choice of returning to decreased fanfare or retiring to life as Mrs. John Cena.

WrestleMania 32 may indeed act as the WrestleMania swansong for these most polarising of divas.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
