9 Times The Past Came Back To Haunt WWE Superstars

1. I'm Just A Sexy Kurt, I'll Make Your Ankle Hurt

Obnoxious yet vindictive Kurt Angle may very well be my favourite Kurt Angle. In the build-up to his dream match with Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 21, Angle was at his very best, bringing up various ghosts from Shawn's past in an attempt to top all of the accomplishments of The Heartbreak Kid. Angle faced and defeated Shawn's old tag partner Marty Jannetty, but it was his re-working of HBK's entrance music that lives longest in the memory.

Before Shawn sang his own music, the lyrics were bleated out by none other than WWE Hall of Famer Sensational Sherri, and Angle brought her back to ram home his humiliation of Shawn. After coming out to HBK's music (much to the chagrin of the SmackDown audience), Angle mimicked Michaels' early entrance all the way down to the manhandling of Sherri.

Angle then proceeded to sing Shawn's music, albeit with slightly amended lyrics. It is one of the most glorious segments in SmackDown history, and watching it back makes me yearn for the HBK/Ange feud once more. HBK interrupts the singing however, to play a video of his own accomplishments. It was a great video, but not quite Kurt Angle singing.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
