9 Times The Past Came Back To Haunt WWE Superstars

4. Jerry Lawler Never Really Wanted A Child

The Michael Cole/Jerry Lawler feud ahead of WrestleMania XXVII is best left forgotten. The match was an utter shambles, and the entire feud was a wet fart from beginning to end. Heel Cole is one of those characters that we already look back on and think to ourselves, "why?".

In order to make the feud a little more personal, Cole took to the ring one night on Raw to talk about Lawler and his family. Well, not quite actually, as the leader of the Cole Miners announced that Lawler's family was going to talk about him. What followed was one of the most awkward WWE segments in recent memory.

Cole brings Lawler's son 'Grandmaster Sexay' Brian Christopher to the ring, and Christopher prances down to the ring whilst approximately 0% of the audience reacts. The silence only added to the awkwardness of the story itself, as Lawler looked on disapprovingly and Josh Matthews tried to find somewhere to hide.

Christopher then spoke of his lack of a father growing up, with only crickets there to respond. Watching this back in 2016 isn't any easier than it was back in 2011.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
