JBL's almost year-long run as WWE Champion on SmackDown was frustrating as all hell at the time, but his feud with The Undertaker was fun in a nostalgic way. It was a mass love-in for fans of the Ministry of Darkness after all. JBL needed to prove himself, so on an episode of SmackDown he headed out to the ring to call out The Undertaker. Of course, everyone responded as if this was truly unthinkable, but JBL had an ace up his sleeve.

Well, by 'ace' I mean he had two blasts from the past up his sleeve. With JBL cornered and 'Taker seemingly about to make him regret ever calling out the Deadman, Gangrel and Viscera appeared out of nowhere to blindside the challenger. 'Taker was beaten down, and it was clear that JBL had a plan all along.

The next week, 'Taker took on the terrible twosome in a handicap match, defeating them with next to no problems because holy lord Gangrel and Viscera sucked in 2004. Both would be signed for WWE's revamped version of ECW in 2006, but whilst Gangrel's weight issues stopped him from reappearing, Viscera's weight issues enhanced his chances.
