The history books correctly identify Seth Rollins as the first wrestler to cash in their Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania, using it to join the already-in-progress main event at WrestleMania 31. He would capture Brock Lesnar’s WWE World Heavyweight Championship by pinning Roman Reigns.

However, Damian Priest made history of his own at WrestleMania 40 when he became the first person to execute a more traditional cash-in, initiating a new, impromptu match by turning over his briefcase.

During the opening match on night two, Drew McIntyre defeated a wounded Rollins to win the World Heavyweight Championship. However, the Scottish Warrior incited CM Punk, one of the best wrestlers in the world even when he's on the shelf, who was seated at ringside doing commentary, by celebrating on the announce desk. Punk battered McIntyre, leaving the new champ laid out.

Cue Priest, who raced to the ring with his briefcase to trigger a fresh world title match on the spot. Damian would quickly topple McIntyre, stealing his WrestleMania spotlight and ending his World Heavyweight Championship reign after five minutes.
