9 Ups & 1 Down For AEW Collision (Dec 16 - Results & Review)

1. The American Dragon Struggles On

AEW Collision Brody King Bryan Danielson
AEW

With Andrade El Idolo targeting Bryan Danielson's left eye on last week's AEW Collision, one of the most intriguing questions that posed was how in the blue hell would this wounded warrior going to somehow deal with the monstrous presence of one Brody King.

That particular Continental Classic bout took place this week, and was everything you could've hoped for. Yes, Danielson got the win, but Brody was made to look like an utter beast. Whether it was the running splash on the outside barrier, whether it was the cannonballs in the corner, or whether it was the simple fact that it took three Busaiku Knees to put King down, the House of Black man loses absolutely nothing with this defeat.

On the other side of that coin, the American Dragon yet again showed himself to be the ultimate scrapper, overcoming the odds despite the bullseye on his left eye. And now, we also have the hugely intriguing prospect of whether or not Bryan's final Continental Classic match, against BCC cohort Claudio Castagnoli, will see Claudio follow in the footsteps of Andrade El Idolo and Brody King in taking advantage of that vulnerable left eye of Danielson's.

In the Blue League of the C2, it's Bryan and Andrade who lead the way with nine points right now, but all three of Brody King, Eddie Kingston, and Castagnoli have a chance of matching that nine points if results go their way as the tournament enters the final leg of its league stage.

And as ever, Nigel McGuinness didn't miss out on an opportunity to mock Danielson as we continue to dream of seeing one last Nigel vs. Bryan bout at Wembley Stadium next year...
