9 Ups & 1 Down From AEW Dynamite (8 Sep)

Downs...

1. Timing Issues?

Jon Moxley Aubrey Edwards
AEW

Tony Khan committed the greatest sin of his young wrestling career to date when he cut Minoru Suzuki's Kaze Ni Nare off before the refrain. A heinous act worthy of exploring legal options, it will remain a black mark on Khan's name for the rest of his days.

Joking aside, Dynamite's closing stretch (built around Suzuki vs. Moxley) either suffered from timing issues or wasn't particularly well laid out. There was the strange cut-off in Suzuki's theme, which would have surely drawn one of the night's loudest response, but also the bout abruptly cutting to a commercial just as it was getting going. The match then finished a few minutes before the show went off the air, meaning we got 2-3 minutes of Moxley celebrating with his hometown crowd to close.

Perhaps the bout was trimmed so that Suzuki could get his eyebrow looked at after busting it open late on? Either way, there was a janky feeling to all of this - but more on the match (which was tremendous) later.
