9 Ups & 2 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Oct 21)

4. Finally, FTR vs. The Bucks

FTR Young Bucks
AEW

The main event pitting The Young Bucks, Private Party, John Silver and Alex Reynolds, and The Butcher and The Blade against each other for a Tag Team Title shot didn't quite click into an elite gear, though it was still a fast, fun, and meaty clash highlighted by an electric Silver performance. His hot period was incredible. Dashing around ringside with pop-pop-poppping offense, he levelled everybody, leapt back inside, and scored a great near fall after working double-teams with Reynolds. The guy is an electric ball of energy and a must-watch at the moment.

A mad scramble of a bout came to an end when Matt Jackson reversed Isiah Kassidy's pin attempt coming out of a failed Meltzer Driver, scoring a shot at FTR's gold. Finally, the dream match is going down.

Tully Blanchard disguising himself as the timekeeper for the post-match beatdown was an odd choice, as his identity was never in doubt. Still, the Pillmanizing of Matt's ankle was well done. Cash Wheeler stomped down on the joint after a steel chair had been wrapped around it, making the Bucks the sympathetic party in this feud, hopefully moving them away from their misfiring heel teases.

It's hard to imagine a universe in which this match doesn't pop.
