9 Ups & 2 Downs From WWE SmackDown (13 Sept - Results & Review)
6. Andrade & Carmelo Hayes Produce
What a journey Carmelo Hayes and Andrade have been on.
They began by feuding over who was the biggest loser at Money In The Bank (when both lost out on the briefcase), then started producing the goods in-ring with a strong series of matches. Eventually, WWE added some stakes by revealing that the winner of a deadlocked five-match series would go on to challenge for LA Knight's United States Title.
That added even more juice to the tiebreaker on this week's SmackDown. Andrade won the series 3-2, and now has his sights set on Knight. Personally, this fan would've preferred Melo because of his heel status, but it's hard to deny that LA vs. Andrade will be one of those bangers the cool kids talk about.
Andrade and Melo went from wrestling for seemingly no reason to winning everyone over with top in-ring work. Things proper got going once Triple H added a spoonful of purpose to the rivalry. Having something tangible at the end helped massively.
