9 Ups & 3 Downs From AEW Dynamite (2 Nov)

7. A Good Bait-And-Switch

Renee Paquette Saraya
AEW

AEW promised and promoted a Renee Paquette sit-down interview between Britt Baker and Saraya on last night’s Dynamite, and though they failed to deliver it, what they did present was knowing of that, and better.

Baker’s choice to not show up was in keeping with her overt arrogance and covert cowardice - things she tried hard to mask in booking herself and Jaime Hayter into a Rampage tag team match later in the show. In the same promo, she dusted off her old “conspiracy” cry as if to angrily remind the newcomer that she’s got more credit in the AEW bank than the former Paige could compete with.

And speaking of her competing - the sit down between friends Renee and Saraya balanced the eventual reveal of that news magnificently. The “one more doctor” line was better than cute, and set the table nicely for everything still to follow before Full Gear.
