9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Aug 11)

4. The Deal Falls Through

On paper, Jordynne Grace vs. Kimber Lee is obviously a fantastic pairing, either as a tandem or as adversaries. Their match was nothing more than to build to Emergence’s Knockouts Championship tie between Grace and defending champion Deonna Purrazzo. However, that fact didn't detract from the decent encounter.

The story here was that the former CHIKARA Grand Champion would have earned a title opportunity of her own if she was able to defeat ‘Thicc Mama Pump’, which was clear to see from the way she performed here. Strikes were flying all over the place, while a brutal German suplex near enough folded Jordynne in half. It left the viewer saying that even a loss could have placed Kimber in line for a championship match.

After drilling her knees into Lee’s back, a rear naked choke was cinched in to allow for a submission win for Deonna’s first challenger. If ever there was a need to establish Jordynne Grace as a dominating performer, it was this sort of match. If she’s capable of this in a match that lasted less than ten minutes, then she’ll certainly succeed in abundance in her Iron Man Match in two weeks’ time.
