9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Aug 11)
2. Establishing The Good Brothers
It was slightly odd when Dez and Suicide ventured out to the ring for a random X division match. We had seen the pairing together in The Rascalz’ treehouse alongside Wentz, with ‘The Masked Man of Mystery’ replacing Trey for one night only. Once the match got underway though, things began to make more and more sense, as The Good Brothers stormed the ring.
Karl Anderson and the fresh out of jail Doc Gallows took out Dez and Wentz, while flattening Suicide with a Magic Killer. Calling out Ace Austin and Madman Fulton, the former multi-time Tag Team Champions were done playing games, which wasn’t helped when ‘The One True Ace’ revealed he and Fulton weren’t actually in the building, before issuing the challenge for a bout on night one of Emergence.
This was perhaps the perfect scenario. Showing a tiny bit of Dez vs. Suicide was a brief bit of fun, while their decimation at the hands of The Good Brothers reminded everyone simply how destructive the pairing can be when they completely let loose. You can often forget just how good they actually are since they weren’t used all too well in their previous life.
