9 Ups & 3 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 6)

2. The Best, Period

This week's main event, as has been the case on a number of occasions as of late, featured the reigning World Tag Team Champions, as The Motor City Machine Guns battled two of their upcoming challengers in Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. It's worth noting Ace insisted on starting the match, to which Fulton was visibly irritated, showing the first possible sign of dissension between them.

Throughout the duration of this one, it became clear what separates an established tag team from a mismatched duo, as Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley were crisp in their movements, and also cordoned Ace off from the former oVe monster for the first chunk of the bout. Even simple things like wearing down the arms of 'The Inevitable' to make tagging in Fulton that bit more painful prove why the Guns are considered one of the greatest tandems of the modern era.

The North would attempt to get involved with a steel chair in Ethan Page's hands, only to be stopped by The Good Brothers. All the commotion at ringside was enough of a distraction for Madman Fulton to be downed via Skull and Bones to ensure a Sabin and Shelley victory. Not quite the same chaotic ending that we've become used to from these rivals, but it did what it needed to do.

Needless to say, that Bound For Glory tag titles bout is going to be legendary, no matter who comes out on top. Every match of the rivalry thus far has been exquisite, this being no different. Each and every difference in the way the two teams wrestled one another came together like bread and butter.
