9 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE Raw (Sept 26)

Downs…

3. Missing The Peak

Bianca Belair opening segment

It might have been an off-week, but did the opening segment and match feel a bit off? Yes, there are positives we’ll talk about later, but it was impossible to miss.

Bayley’s message about Bianca Belair being groomed and handpicked for greatness was fantastic, but things felt like they fell apart a bit at the end, before setting up the ladder match at Extreme Rules. It was almost as if they had a great opening plan, but never went back and wrote a closing to the segment.

It’s hard not to feel like this feud, which has only been going on for two months, has already peaked. It doesn’t feel like a hot rivalry between the groups. Asuka and Alexa Bliss feel like silent sidekicks most of the time, just seconding Belair and backing her up. There’s been no mention of getting another tag title shot or real individual goals.

Bayley and Belair should have a great match at Extreme Rules, and maybe it’s just a mood or vibe, but there’s a feeling that this has already hit the high point and is just spinning on a treadmill to the PLE.
