9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Full Gear 2022

4. Death Triangle Beats The Elite

It would've been super-unfair had The Elite waltzed back into AEW view and won the Trios Titles from Death Triangle so suddenly. Within minutes of that result, Twitter might've filled up with a mix of happy comments and those pointing out that Kenny Omega/The Young Bucks are in business for themselves.

The good news? PAC, Rey Fenix and Penta got the win.

Fenix even used PAC's hammer to score the pin, so there's a story to tell there and The Elite can ease back into full-time AEW life. As for the actual match? Well, it was typical Elite craziness. As always, your mileage may vary with that, and they defo could cut at least 25% of the spots they work in, but it was an 18-minute sprint and nice reintroduction for CM Punk's favourite wrestlers.

The live crowd were certainly into it, and their noise elevated the sense of anticipation that a title switch was incoming. Great call by AEW to keep the belts on Death Triangle for now though, 'cause they would've looked like chumps by losing just to feed The Elite's egos.
