9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Full Gear 2022

2. William Regal + MJF = Gold

William Regal's range should act as a lesson to any fledgling workers watching AEW's product. One minute, he's flirting with Excalibur like a bumbling English gent behind the announce desk. The next, he's spitting verbal fire and smiling a wicked smile after fooling just about everybody with his crafty plans.

Some may argue that joining up with MJF is a swerve for the sake of it, but Regal has made it clear from day one in AEW that he isn't to be trusted. There are definite Paul Heyman and CM Punk (ha) vibes from his coming union with Friedman, and that's not a bad thing.

The way Regal slid those brass knuckles in for the champ-to-be? Silky smooth.

There's this misconception in pro wrestling that only those who struggle on promos need managers. Nah. Bobby Heenan was with top talkers like Ric Flair, Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude and others. Heyman was with Punk, and is with Roman Reigns.

This Regal/MJF business should be gold.
