9 Ups & 4 Downs From AEW Full Gear 2022

Downs...

4. Not Quite The Definitive Split

AEW Full Gear 2022 Keith Lee Swerve Strickland
AEW

It's a case of diminishing returns for this feud.

No, the AEW Tag Title bout wasn't bad by any means, but The Acclaimed retaining their gold wasn't the big story here. Instead, Keith Lee refused to use Swerve Strickland's pliers, then walked out on his partner following a slap. Being honest, he was looking like an idiot for sticking by Swerve anyway.

This story needs a little work. AEW must either commit to a definitive split for the pair or have them mend fences and get back on track - the penny should've dropped long before now for Keith that he'd be better off on his own, so he looks foolish by continuing to put up with Strickland's nonsense.

Sadly, as decent as it was, The Acclaimed vs. 'Swerve In Our Glory' (still hate that name) was in the dreaded "death spot" right before the main event. It also came near the end of a looooong show, so fans struggled to get right up for what was being served.
