9 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (2 Feb)

2. Trey's Two Crutches

In his first interview since returning to Impact Wrestling last week, Trey Miguel sort of showed signs of an eventual heel turn. Referring to "his two crutches", 'The Fresh Prince of Mid-Air' was implying that Dez and Wentz held him back throughout his entire Impact career. In reality, Miguel was involved in both the World and X Division Championship title pictures for the majority of 2020, while the rechristened Wes Lee and Nash Carter floated endlessly around the tag team division.

Miguel seems set for a rivalry vs. Sami Callihan for the time being, with 'The Draw' interrupting said interview with Gia Miller. Keep in mind, some of Sami's previous rivals have taken a turn for the worse. Ken Shamrock fully snapped and now finds himself suspended again, while Eddie Edwards unnecessarily bit the eye of Brian Myers last Tuesday, and also went wild after the initial baseball bat incident a couple of years ago. Trey looks destined to join that list if this was anything to go by, despite having the most babyface appearance in Impact today.
