9 Ups & 4 Downs From Impact Wrestling (5 Jan)
5. Cleaning Up
Rich Swann and The Motor City Machine Guns made the mistake of heading straight to the parking lot where Kenny Omega's bus was parked, being jumped by 'The Best Bout Machine' and The Good Brothers for their troubles.
Omega, Doc Gallows, and Karl Anderson made easy work of Swann, Chris Sabin, and Alex Shelley, with Don Callis being his usual d*ck self around the laid out bodies. You'd be wrong to assume Callis doesn't fit in with this version of Bullet Club - if we're officially calling them that - as the Impact EVP has been exceptional in his role since becoming fully aligned with the AEW World Champion on 2 December. Add in 'The Big LG' and 'The Machine Gun', and the quartet make for one hell of an entertaining act.
What's surprising, really, is that Kenny is actually physically getting involved ahead of his Impact in-ring debut at Hard To Kill. You'd be quite right to guess he would refrain from the action itself, aside from using a wet floor sign on the 15 December broadcast, simply because you want to save all the hype for 16 January. By having him get involved, though, you're creating far more anticipation for the six-man tag bout than you would have had otherwise.
He's played his role perfectly since capturing the World Championship. Swann, Sabin, and Shelley are the greatest trio for Omega and The Good Brothers to battle because as fantastic as the Biz Cliz are, you can't help but bat for Rich and the Guns. They're the definition of pro wrestling babyfaces.
