9 Ups & 5 Downs From AEW Dynamite (Mar 25)

2. The Rest Of Jericho & Hardy

Teleportation aside, Chris Jericho and Matt Hardy's in-ringer was a good segment that showed how Matt's wacky character can and will interact with AEW's more grounded personalities.

It began tremendously, with 'The Painmaker' cutting a hilarious promo on Vanguard f*cking One, trying to recruit the drone into The Inner Circle after ripping his arrogance, his political views on social media, and calling it a "piece of sh*t." This, of course, led to Hardy's arrival.

"Maker of Pain, you knew I'd come!" was his opener, showing that despite any differences, we're getting a full-on Broken Matt in AEW. Jericho tried to give the newcomer the lay of the land, saying AEW was his show, then gave him the Inner Circle sales pitch, though Hardy countered by saying he owed the Bucks of Youth a debt for resurrecting him. There's a new entity inside him, the 3000-year-old Damascus, who will create violence and brutality.

"A hole of the *rse." That's what Hardy called Jericho. Lovely.

Things fell apart when it became clear that Matt wasn't going to buy into the Inner Circle and though Jericho swung first, Hardy and The Elite were standing tall by the end. Kenny Omega and Cody's chair-assisted invasion got rid of Jericho and Sammy Guevara. A routine way to end the segment, but an appropriate one, as the build to Blood and Guts continues.
