9 Ups & 5 Downs From IMPACT Wrestling Against All Odds 2021

3. Swann Learns From Morrissey

W. Morrissey is a certified superstar.

He proved as such against Rich Swann. Although Swann held the early advantage, Morrissey looked like a beast once he took over. Between sending Rich flying out of the ring, swinging him around by his neck, and booting Swann out of mid-air, the former Big Cass was wrestling like he was in a main event World Championship match. He does so in every match; that’s how compelling a performer he is.

Rich’s comeback – which included a neat 450 splash off the ring apron – was soon interjected with a boot square in Swann’s spine to avoid a Lethal Injection. This was merely the beginning of Morrissey’s murderous conclusion. A release F5 and three Powerbombs sealed Swann’s fate.

W. Morrissey has been with IMPACT for 49 days at the time of writing. In that time, he already holds two pins over a former X Division Champion and now one over a former World Champion, doing so in a cracking contest. He’s clearly being penned for big things in the company if he’s a) beating recent former champions, and b) being positioned in such high-profile situations.

His match with Swann here will legitimately go down as one of IMPACT’s best of the pandemic era. The depth that has is insane.
