9 Ups & 6 Downs From Impact Wrestling (Oct 11)

3. Simply Undeniable

The X Division Championship ladder match at Bound For Glory has all the signs of being a cracking encounter between five of Impact's best. We got a preview of that this week as the current champ Jake Crist teamed with Madman Fulton to face two of his challengers, Tessa Blanchard and Daga.

For the better part of six months, we've been seeing Tessa mainly competing in intergender bouts, showing her male counterparts why they shouldn't be taking her lightly. That was on full display here as she gave it 110% against Crist and Fulton, connecting with a gorgeous tope suicida later on in the match. She and Daga worked extremely well as a team for the entirety of the match, using some innovative offence. You perhaps wouldn't have been expecting that, especially since they'll be on opposing sides during that ladder match.

Tessa would even get the pin here, defeating Jake after nailing him with the Magnum. If typical wrestling rules are followed here, then that means she's likely not going to be winning the X Division Championship when Impact roll into Illinois, but this was huge no matter what happens in that match. We shouldn't really be surprised at it by now seeing as Tessa's been doing this for months now. If she does go on to win the title, then that's history made right there.

What a wonderful main event this was.
