9 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Apr 30)

4. Shane & Roman

Shane McMahon might have "go away" heat with some, but his family's ongoing feud with Roman Reigns was one of the few things to draw legitimate reactions on this week's SmackDown, and, as such, it's impossible to throw it down as anything other than an Up.

'The Big Dog' cut a solid little promo to kick things up, stating that while punching Vince wasn't in his original plans, he was out to prove that SmackDown was his yard. This drew the gloriously annoying Shane from the back. After reminding Roman that the "McMahons own all the land," he was put down as a daddy's boy, prompting McMahon to claim that "guys were lining up to welcome [Roman] back to SmackDown." The B-Team and Elias were introduced as three of them, and the wonky handicap scrap was put together.

These interactions between Reigns and Shane are solid. Pitting Roman against WWE's controlling family has worked in the past, and the last few weeks have shown it can probably work again, provided the company don't drag it out too long.

Smash cut to Reigns and 'The Best In The World' finally blowing the feud off at WrestleMania 36...
