9 Ups & 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE SmackDown (Apr 30)

3. Squash Match City

Asuka Kairi Sane Jobber

Those who don't enjoy Billie Kay and Peyton Royce's yapping characters will want to hit the mute button for this one, as The IIconics were incessent on guest commentary, but Asuka and Kairi Sane's squash of local competitors Toni Bone and Terri Spice was totally effective.

Designed to make the Japanese stars look dominant, it did just that. They beat the tar out of their overmatched opponents, barely giving them a look in from the very first bell, attacking the duo with force and pace. 'The Empress Of Tomorrow' heated things up with a German suplex. Cue: double-team moves, the Insane Elbow, and the 1-2-3.

This is how you push, promote, and elevate stars. Good job, WWE.
