2. Champ Is Chump Again

It’s a statement of fact that if you’re a top heel, you occasionally are going to have to take your lumps (unless you’re Stephanie McMahon, but that’s for another day).

But what has happened to Kevin Owens recently is becoming a little ridiculous. The WWE Universal Champion has found himself laid out a few times recently, including Monday night, when he ate a spear and Pedigree, leaving him lying on the floor with Chris Jericho while Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns celebrated.

And it’s fine for that to happen. If the faces never stand tall, fans lose faith and stop watching. But your champion has to look like a champion, and Owens looked like anything but Monday night. It almost looked like the typical WWE holiday episode, where they have to send fans home happy, even if that means making the heel champ look like a chump.

In that case, we’ll give WWE a partial pass, but it should be noted in case the trend continues.
