9 Ups And 7 Downs From WWE SummerSlam 2021

2. Beast Mode: On

Brock Lesnar Roman Reigns
WWE

We last saw Brock Lesnar in WWE, he was losing the WWE Championship to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36 in 2020.

Saturday, the beast returned to WWE to confront Roman Reigns and blow the roof off the stadium in Las Vegas. It was legit probably the biggest, most attainable surprise WWE could pull off. While it wasn’t on par with CM Punk’s big return, it was an incredible moment and sets up a legit huge match down the line.

There also is the interesting dynamic of Paul Heyman, who managed Brock during his last run and is now seconding Roman to the ring. Almost immediately, you start wondering if Heyman could backstab Roman and realign himself with Brock, similar to how he sold Lesnar out back in 2003 and siding with the Big Show.

Regardless, this was a hell of a way to close out SummerSlam and leave fans thirsting for more.
