You can quibble about who picked up the win Saturday night, but no one can deny that Edge and Seth Rollins delivered an absolutely incredible match at SummerSlam.

Starting with Edge’s Brood throwback entrance, the two had the crowd firmly in the palms of their hands. They battled back and forth, each scoring a series of near-falls. The story of the match was that Edge’s fused neck wouldn’t stand up to a Rolling curbstomp, so Seth clearly targeted it throughout the match. But Edge showed that age really is just a number, keeping pace with Rollins.

The crowd bought several of the near-falls, most notably Rollins’ missed Phoenix Splash that was countered with a spear. Edge even dusted off his wife Beth Phoenix’s Glam Slam for a near-fall. But in the end, despite bringing the Edgecution and Edgeucator out of mothballs, it was a sleeper/crossface that brought Edge the win.

Great match. You might disagree with the winner, but you can’t deny the quality of their work.
