Pro wrestling has never been healthier when it comes to talent. All over the world there are fantastic performers just waiting to be discovered, and the internet has provided a platform for the art to be perfected in every corner of God’s green earth. There are more places to wrestle and more top quality wrestlers to do battle with. This is a great time for the sport.

Impact needs to utilise the masses of talent available. There is absolutely no reason why performers as talented as Jeff Cobb, Sammy Guevara, Flash Morgan Webster, and Adam Brooks shouldn’t be on Impact’s radar. The company needs to bring new faces to television and give them the chance to shine, as opposed to going back to the Scott Steiner, Jeff Jarrett, and Abyss well.

Impact should also take a leaf out of Lucha Underground’s book (more on that shortly) and present the talent with unique personas that the company can theoretically monetise. Wrestling is about creativity, and who wouldn’t love to come up with personas for performers as talented as Trevor Lee and Dezmond Xavier?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
