9 Ways To Make Sure WWE Fastlane 2016 Doesn't Suck

9. Kalisto Soundly Defeats Alberto Del Rio

The WWE has been seeking to replace Rey Mysterio ever since he departed the company, citing the need for a superstar that their massive Hispanic fanbase can latch on to. They brought back Alberto Del Rio not long after firing him in an attempt to do just that, but he€™s arguably even less over than he was prior to his departure. The best option to replace Rey is Kalisto. The two luchadors are similar in size, moveset and €“ perhaps most important of all €“ appearance, and is his performance at TLC is any indication he€™s quite capable of putting on some breathtaking matches. WWE has been experimenting with him a singles wrestler and he€™s been trading the US title with Del Rio, but Fastlane is the time to drive the nail in the coffin of that feud once and for all. Del Rio is a heatsink that the fans do not respond to while Kalisto has the potential to be a moneymaker for them. Despite the fact that the match is a best 2 out of 3 falls, the right move is to have The Lucha Dragon go over decisively and truly establish in the eyes of the fans that he€™s a wrestler to be taken seriously. No more 50/50 booking between these two. Put Kalisto over strong.
