Drew McDonald is a name that might not be familiar to many of you reading but, while he never wrestled for WWE, he had a big effect on the company - he helped recruit some of WWE's British stars, including Paige, securing them tryouts with the company when they did their annual tours of Europe. WWE trusted his judgement and opinion when it came to potential stars. But Drew was much more than just a guy who helped others get their breaks. He was also a hell of a performer in his own right, a near 30-year veteran of the British independent scene. The Scottish-born bone-bender wrestled the likes of Finlay, William Regal and current NXT trainer Robbie Brookside in a career that spanned the 1980s, 90s and much of the 2000s. Outside the ring, McDonald was noted for his warm and kind nature and was, as JBL noted on Twitter, 'A British and European wrestling legend - especially with the boys!'. 'The Highlander' passed away from cancer on February 9th, 2015. He was 59-years-old.
