9 Wrestlers Who Had Backstage Heat With Roman Reigns

Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns have been fierce rivals over the years and have put on several entertaining matches. The Bloodline storyline added more fuel to their on-screen rivalry, and Survivor Series War Games 2022 featured one of their encounters. The two superstars stood on opposite ends with their respective teams for the War Games match, and while the contest proved to be a hard-hitting affair, Owens got a bit carried away with the excitement during a spot.

Owens slapped Roman Reigns for good measure during the match but seemed to put a little more juice into it, as The Tribal Chief almost sustained a ruptured eardrum after the impact. According to Fightful Select Reigns went off on Owens in an expletive-filled rant backstage, but those close to the situation claimed it was just a heat-of-the-moment reaction and nothing serious to cause a permanent rift between the two stars.

Dave Meltzer added more to the story and stated that Reigns became unhappy after the spot left him with a visible bruise under his left eye. Despite the incident, Reigns and Owens patched things up and worked together on three more occasions, including a singles match at Royal Rumble 2023.
