9 Wrestlers Who Had Backstage Heat With Roman Reigns

Former WWE United States Champion Matt Riddle proved to be a heat magnet throughout his time in WWE. His laid-back attitude and the tendency to not know when to shut up got him on the bad side of wrestlers like Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

In addition to claiming he could beat up Reigns in a real fight since he has an MMA background, Riddle made things worse in his interview with Bleacher Report by attributing Reigns' success to his family ties. Riddle's comments didn't sit well with The Tribal Chief, who called him unprofessional for running his mouth. Riddle revealed on the My Love Letter To Wrestling podcast that he sought Randy Orton's help to write an apology letter to Roman Reigns. However, The Viper's personal touch to the letter didn't do him any good as Reigns rejected his apology.

Reigns continued to harbor resentment towards Riddle to the point that WWE had to keep the latter away from the set when he and Reigns appeared on WWE's The Bump on the same day. However, the two must've worked things out, as Reigns agreed to work with Riddle in three matches in 2022, including an Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match on the 17 June 2022 episode of SmackDown.
