I'm not entirely sure why, but in my brain I can't envisage any other individual winning the 2007 King of the Ring other than the Samoan Bulldozer, Umaga. The former Jamal was on a tear by 2007, and even had the backing of Vince McMahon as he acted as the Chairman of the Board's enforcer.

Umaga came up short at WrestleMania against Lashley, leading to Vince getting his head shaved, but the alliance continued after the Show of Shows. King of the Ring in 2007 would have been specifically designed for Umaga to win, with Vince guaranteeing a seemingly safe passage to the finals for his man.

Umaga would have run through Colin Delaney in the first round, Tommy Dreamer in the second before defeating CM Punk in a hard fought semi final. As for the final, I'm going with Umaga vs. Finlay, sowing more seeds in the Vince/Finlay story that centred around Hornswoggle, although now I'm sad that I remembered that story.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
