9 Wrestling Moves Sami Zayn Doesn’t Do Anymore

5. Arabian Press

Another beautiful move that involves a moonsault, the Arabian press was one of Zayn’s signature moves during his initial run on the main roster. It was yet another way to rouse the crowd, to get the people on his side by putting his body on the line in a display of thrilling athleticism. It was a move that utilised the ropes, the ringside area and the body. High flying moves can be all for show, but Sami Zayn is a thinking man’s wrestler at all times.

Well, was a thinking man’s wrestler, as the Arabian press is long gone. There is showmanship to the move, an expressionist streak that fits in well with a babyface persona and an exciting moveset. Zayn is no longer a good guy and he no longer has an exciting moveset, so the Arabian press (and its fake-out version) are no longer of any use to the current Intercontinental Champion.

It isn’t out of the question that some of these moves may return in the future, but don’t expect to see Sami Zayn pull off an Arabian press any time soon.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
