9 WWE Moments That Prove Vince McMahon Has Been Going Blind For Years

6. Triple H vs Booker T - WrestleMania 19

The Obvious Course Of Action: Put faith in Booker's athleticism and charisma, and give him a career-defining title win on the grandest stage of all. Many fans were eager to see Booker rewarded for his performances since signing with the WWE following WCW's demise. He and Rob Van Dam were perhaps the only two Alliance wrestlers who came out of the Invasion angle looking like stars, and Triple H's dominant heel act was beginning to grate. Vince's Course Of Action: Allow Triple H to go over cleanly at WrestleMania 2003, a match which saw the Game leave a needlessly long pause between hitting his finisher and making the pin, utterly burying Booker in the process. This wasn't the most offensive part of the feud however; that dubious honour goes to the severely uncomfortable racial undertones littered throughout the storyline. Triple H would repeatedly make references to the fact that "people like Booker" were nowhere near his level, and heavily played up his opponent's criminal past. This could perhaps have been slightly excusable had Booker defeated him, turning the whole angle into an inspiring tale of redemption. Instead, however, his clean loss merely seemed to suggest that Triple H's hideous comments were right.
