9 WWE Moments That Prove Vince McMahon Has Been Going Blind For Years

5. Muhammad Hassan: Mega Heel

The Obvious Course Of Action: Muhammad Hassan had the potential to go down as one of the most thought-provoking tweeners (or even babyfaces) in wrestling history. As an interesting spin on the "evil foreigner" gimmick, Hassan was originally leaning towards portraying a very forward-thinking character: an Arabic wrestler with no America-destroying motives, merely playing on the crowd's prejudices and challenging their perceptions. Vince's Course Of Action: Hassan was placed into an incredibly offensive feud with the Undertaker, the low point of which saw a horde of masked, military-garbed figures beat down the Deadman and carry Muhammad's prone manager from the arena like a martyr. The uncomfortable terrorist parallels would have been disgraceful enough at the best of times, but the angle coincided with the London bombings of July 2005. The storyline was rightfully nixed, but it was the unfortunate Hassan who felt the most severe repercussions. Through no fault of his own, he was released from the WWE two months later.
