9 WWE Stars Who Could Be AEW's 'Lex Luger'

5. Sasha Banks

The block of ice wedged between Sasha Banks and WWE following the former's post-WrestleMania 35 tantrum seems to be gradually thawing - if it ever existed in the first place.

So public and pointed has The Boss' criticism of her current employers been - not to mention the uncanny abundance of leaks reporting her outrage - that it almost feels a little bit made-up. If that's the case, Sasha's sally is designed to revert her to her heelish best, a piece of metawork pitting performer against the benevolent brand. Obviously, that's a gross miscalculation - Banks would return more popular than ever.

Supposing it's not a load of b*llocks and Sasha gets gets her wish, she'd be the perfect candidate for AEW Notnitro's Lex Luger role. Perhaps even more perfect than The Total Package was himself. She's a star with a huge following resentful of her usage over the past few years. She'd also immediately elevate a women's division so far grasping for legitimacy, giving it a bonafide main eventer in an instant. The buzz surrounding the opportunity to see what Sasha can really do would be palpable.

Whatever tensions existed seem to be cooling off between Banks and her employers, as she was recently in New York filming mo-cap for the company. But a lot can happen between now and October.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
