9 WWE Stars Who Could Be AEW's 'Lex Luger'

3. Shinsuke Nakamura

Shinsuke Nakamura's contract runs out later this year, though you get the distinct impression he already has one foot on his metaphorical surfboard back across the Pacific.

Revealingly, The King of Strong Style told WWE stooge Sam Roberts last October that we'd hitherto only seen "15%" of what he was capable of in the company. What for so long seemed like wasted potential on WWE's part now comes across as the 39-year-old having spent the last two years cashing in, giving as much back to the company as they've given him since his WrestleMania 34 defeat to AJ Styles.

During Rusev's recent sabbatical, his tag-partner Nakamura completely dropped off the radar. It's questionable whether he cares at this point, and having apparently checked out, it's eminently sensible to suggest an autumn migration to AEW. It's more money for old rope - and the focus of the company might just draw out that remaining 85% North America is yet to see. Or maybe not. Either way, it'd benefit both parties.

Probability: 50%

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
