9 WWE Superstars Who Could Be So Much More Than They Currently Are
4. Finn Bálor
While Finn Bálor continues to make appearances in the main event scene on Raw, he's often in and out of the bigger storylines. One of the more popular talents on the roster, WWE doesn't seem to trust he can carry the company as champion. Rumors persist that he was pulled from a pay-per-view main event because he wasn't "over" and from that moment on, Bálor has gone back and forth winning and losing matches.
While this was all going on, Bálor's alter-ego "The Demon King" all-but disappeared. Word was Vince McMahon viewed Bálor as only marketable when he was painted up and portraying the Demon character. Once Bálor lost McMahon, it became an uphill battle and eventually, as the Irish star said on an episode of Table for 3, he was anxious to try something else.
With the Demon King gone and WWE seemingly squashing each instance that sees Bálor gain momentum, it feels like WWE is offering Bálor just enough to hang around but not enough to leave a mark. This is the same man who became the first-ever Universal Champion and, at one period, sold more merchandise than any other WWE superstar. He has a huge fanbase wanting to see him succeed. WWE just isn't feeling it.
