TLC matches have launched several careers, evidenced by the fact that three of the six participants from the first couple bouts would go on to become world champions in WWE: Edge, Christian and Jeff Hardy. Another 18 participants are former world heavyweight champions, bringing the total to 21 of the 28 wrestlers who have fought in a TLC match have held a world championship. Four wrestlers are WWE Hall of Famers: Edge, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels and Jerry Lawler. Edge has the most experience in TLC matches, having wrestled in nearly half seven of the 15. Jeff Hardy has competed in five, and Christian and Bubba Ray Dudley have entered four each. Fifteen superstars have fought in just one TLC match, which some might say is more than enough.
