Adam Cole's NXT Championship Defences Ranked From Worst To Best

3. Keith Lee (Great American Bash, Night Two)

A very, very satisfying way for a long title run to come to an end this, even if both former and new Champion were reduced by the threat that lingered over both of them.

Adam Cole and Keith Lee had a very Adam Cole and Keith Lee NXT main event, which is mostly to their credit. The agenting of these contests has bordered on lazy for much of the last few months, relying on the supreme work rate of the combatants to perform and sell every major move and subsequent near fall as if the end of the world awaits. Cole's great facials, Lee's incredible hybrid style - the whole thing's been a little over-egged in the absence of a story, but the stakes were high enough for most of it to absolutely bang.

Ultimately, this incredibly spirited Great American Bash main event was most definitely the (WWE/NXT) making of double champion Keith Lee, which remains a testament to Cole's time with the title overall.
