Additional WWE Wrestlers Leaving Company (WWE News)
Another release, a contract non-renewal join 15 WWE wrestlers released on Friday.
A day removed from yet another WWE Black Friday with the company releasing more than a dozen wrestlers, news emerged Saturday that another superstar was among those cut, while it was revealed that another wrestler's contract will not be renewed.
Friday, WWE released 15 main-roster and NXT superstars, gutting their women's tag team divisions at both levels in the process. Braun Strowman, Dakota Kai, Shayna Baszler, Kayden Carter & Katana Chance were the main roster superstars released, while Cora Jade, Gigi Dolin, Eddy Thorpe, Riley Osborne, Jakara Jackson, Gallus (Wolfgang, Joe Coffey and Mark Coffey), Ora Mensah and Javier Bernal were the NXT wrestlers cut.
Fightful Select reported Saturday that Shotzi's contract is up "soon" and she has been informed that the company will not be extending it. This follows a promo Shotzi posted on X this week that led to people questioning her status with WWE. Additionally, WWE moved her profile to the Alumni section of its website.
I am more than grateful for the wild ride! Can’t wait to see where this crazy journey takes me next! I hope to make all my believers proud. ?— Shotzi (@ShotziWWE) May 3, 2025
Joining NXT in late 2019, Shotzi made her main roster debut in July 2021, forming an ill-fated tag team with Tegan Nox. She bounced around on SmackDown before suffering a torn ACL in early 2024, which shelved her for much of the year. Shotzi returned in December 2024 in NXT, joining forces with Dolin and Tatum Paxley.
Fightful reported that Shotzi's contract will expire this spring or summer. While the outlet did not have an exact date, it indicated that her deal will end "before 90 days." Once it does, she would be free to take bookings immediately. This differs from the released wrestlers, who have non-compete clauses prohibiting them from working for other promotions. Generally, main-roster talent have 90-day non-compete clauses, while NXT wrestlers have to wait 30 days.
Also on Saturday, NXT wrestler Dani Palmer announced via Instagram that she also had been released. Signed by WWE in 2022, Palmer wrestled primarily on Level Up with a handful of televised NXT matches. She had appeared on WWE Evolve this spring, with her most recent match airing early last month. Her last televised match on NXT came in the Women's Breakout Tournament in October 2023, where she lost a first-round match to eventual winner Lola Vice.
Fightful stated that sources they spoke to don't believe Palmer will continue in wrestling, and she said in her Instagram post about this release "officially closing out my athletic career."
