AEW All Out: 10 Things That Must Happen

7. The Triple Threat Goes Hardcore

This is a case-in-point example of the argument against random card-fillers, but it does have a chance of succeeding if AEW play to the strengths of the men involved.

Fans of UK indy promotions like PROGRESS, ICW and the now-defunct Defiant will know that Jimmy Havoc is at his best when he has some toys to play with. In order to make this match sing and stop it from being the kind that people palm off as irrelevant, it may require some seasoning. No, not salt and pepper. Blood and guts.

OK, so nobody's advocating that Jimmy string poor Joey Janela up and start cutting him with barbed wire, but a few steel chairs, tables and other gimmicks wouldn't go amiss. That style also jives with the no f*cks given presentation of Darby Allin's character to date, and it'd help make the match a little more exciting than an exhibition three-way.

There'd be a hearty cheer in Illinois if ring announcer Justin Roberts revealed that the match was a hardcore one. Plus, assuming Havoc, Allin and Janela didn't kick the arse out of it and steal all the fun, they could set the table (pun intended) for a match to come...
