Time for a confession: This writer has never fully understood the hype surrounding Orange Cassidy, his laid back gimmick or the swelling crusade to push him as a pro wrestling saviour. Even so, only a fool would deny the responses he played to pre-pandemic, and it'd take some amount of critical blindness to ignore his spitfire spirit when the shades comes off.

There's another fact at play here. Chris Jericho doesn't need many pay-per-view wins at this stage in his epic career, and he could really give Cassidy a leg up if he puts him over at All Out. The gimmicky nature of their 'Mimosa Mayhem' fray also means Jericho can lose by being tossed into the drink rather than being pinned or submitting.

No prizes for guessing which finish his adoring public would prefer.

This is AEW's chance to build multiple stars on the same night. After crowning Darby Allin as the new number one contender, Orange Cassidy should freshly squeeze his way to victory and receive quite the sell job from the announcers. Then...
