AEW All Out 2023: 10 Things That Must Happen

5. Samoa Joe Retains

There's no point in ignoring the obvious.

Shane Taylor is a puzzling choice to challenge Samoa Joe for the ROH TV Title here. The Ring of Honor influence is starting to creep back onto mainline AEW programming, which is slightly worrying overall, but Taylor doesn’t feel worthy of a spot on All Elite pay-per-view generally.

This should be a relatively easy title defence for Joe then. What's the alternative? That Taylor shocks the Samoan just one week after he kicked off AEW's biggest show ever vs. CM Punk? Tony Khan surely doesn't want to put any bullet holes in Joe's armour so quickly after a sparkling Wembley showing.

Joe also reportedly showed off his leadership skills behind the scenes when Punk was scrapping with Jack Perry too, so taking the TV Title off him here would come across as a bizarre punishment. Honestly, this should've happened on ROH TV, not AEW pay-per-view.

Next, please!
