Remember that earlier entry about MJF gatecrashing the 'Casino Ladder Match' to become number one contender to the AEW World Title? Well, this TNT Championship result would also give the bragging little fool more material for his promos.

He'd have the chance to boast about topping Cody again.

Assume AEW plan to stick to this whole 'Cody can't challenge for the World Title ever again' stipulation as long as they possibly can. That doesn't leave much room for Rhodes to work top-tier feuds. He's probably best off helping to develop fresh stars on the undercard right now anyway, and so giving him his own division would work out.

Winning the TNT Title right off the bat would set Lance Archer up nicely, but no. This is Cody's title to win, and his division to establish as akin to the old Intercontinental one before WWE stopped caring about that once-proud belt.
