Hikaru Shida officially passed the one year mark as AEW Women's Champion on 23 May. Her win over Nyla Rose at last year's Double Or Nothing couldn't have prepared anybody for the strength of her reign; Shida, along with several others, has successfully revived what was once the lamest division in the company.

Her opponent, Britt Baker, has been part of that shift too. This is the dentist's time to shine. Double Or Nothing 2021 would be the right time to crown a brand new Women's Champ and for AEW to put their all into Baker as the face of the entire division.

Hikaru has done her bit.

Besides, there's a tasty feud waiting for Britt if she does become champion this Sunday. Her bloody Dynamite headliner opposite Thunder Rosa in March deserves a sequel, and Rosa can allege that she's the one to topple Baker from her throne. After all, she's already beaten ol' D.M.D once before.
