There's no way AEW could get away with having Will Ospreay take a loss vs. Roderick Strong. That's not meant as a dig at Strong, or anything of the sort, but Ospreay is someone TK will rely on to carry the product in coming years. Besides, Tony has booked himself into a corner by even scheduling this International Title match.

Sorry, Undisputed Kingdom lovers, but this is Will's match all day long.

OK, so it's clear that Ospreay doesn't need the lowly International strap to grab attention from AEW's audience, but he's here now so might as well win the thing. In a perfect world, Will grabbing the title will actually elevate it above lower-midcard status. It's worth a punt, eh?

Some might be tempted to suggest Roddy's stablemates will get involved and screw Ospreay out of gold, but no - that shouldn't happen. Will can lose here or there, but he shouldn't be eating defeat in matches like this one. Strong is there to play supporting actor to the star, and that's just the way it is.
